Fresh Ventures is a startup studio that builds ventures using systems thinking and ecosystem approach to address some of the most important challenges in our agrifood system. Our venture Studio, where we build ventures from scratch, is preceded by a program of 30-40 individuals who over four-months form teams and work towards early prototypes that address these challenges.
About the role
The main purpose of this role is to support the founders in the cohort to make faster progress on their venture development during the program.
To do so, this role will involve conducting market research, understanding development strategies behind different products and services, learning about how to understand users and the appropriate channels to reach them, honing your abilities in business and financial modeling, and identifying critical expertise not yet within our ecosystem. You will also help the Fresh core team provide unblockers for individuals and teams under their care. At its core, this role is effectively an entrepreneur-in-training opportunity for an individual who has the ambition to become a founder.
Your supervisors will be the Program Lead and the Studio Lead. Beyond helping teams with entrepreneurial needs and questions, your role will be to support the Program Lead and Studio Lead prepare fertile ground for ventures to seed and develop, as well as help with quick fixes on the ground during the program.
Participating in at least some of the program activities alongside cohort members (for example, ideation sprints)
Meeting with individual founders and venture teams to understanding their needs and blockers
Conducting rapid research into addressing key questions that unblock teams
Building an organised library of information and resources on venture building
Arranging last-minute program needs when necessary with the Program Director
Help maintain documentation that captures insights from cohort and program with the Fresh team
Organizing workflows, CRMs, and documentation as needed
Shadow the Fresh core team as they run check-ins with founders and venture teams
The internship lasts for 6 months, beginning February 2022 to the end of July 2022. The role is centered around Rotterdam, though remote working is flexible. The internship comes with a monthly stipend and ideally be a 4-5 days per week commitment.
